George Montgomery

George’s most recent role as a CEO was with I Drive Safely LLC, the premier on-line provider of driver safety training.  George was recruited to the CEO role to transition the company from a small privately held entity to a professionally managed, high growth company.  He recruited a new executive team and acquired the company’s largest competitor, Drivers Ed, in 2014 to establish the largest driver training company in the USA.  George now serves as Chairman of the Board of eDriving LLC, the new parent entity.

Before joining I Drive Safely, George served as CEO of U.S. Education Corp, a private post-secondary educational institution focused on allied healthcare.  While CEO, George was instrumental in developing and executing initiatives that drove significant revenue and profit growth.  With backing from private equity firms, U.S. Education grew from four campuses to 19 through four acquisitions and greenfield expansion.  The breadth and number of courses increased materially as well with the addition of nursing, dental hygiene and radiography programs.  U.S. Education was sold to DeVry in 2008.

Prior to U.S. Education, George served as CEO of Taylor Made Golf.  As VP Marketing, President, and ultimately CEO, George helped the company grow from $70 million in revenue to over $400 million. During George’s tenure, Taylor Made gained market share in all product categories and expanded internationally. George helped engineer the sale of the company to adidas in 1998.

Before Taylor Made, George was SVP of Marketing and Sales for K2 Corporation, where he helped the company grow to #1 market share in the US with similar growth in Europe and Japan.

George earned an MBA from UCLA and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Washington.
